Field Station: Dinosaurs — New $6.5 Million Cost Theme Park in Derby

Newly opened in Derby, Kansas, the 14-acre Field-Station: Dinosaur theme park has 44 life-size animatronic dinosaurs distributing among three different areas of the park. Guy Gsell, the park executive director, says these dinosaur exhibits can roar, breathe and blink like the real ones. This park has a natural lake and quarry and employees providing live shows.

With intriguing outdoor events like Jurassic golf and the Kansas Climb, the park also offers some ideas you never think of. One of these ideas would be Dinosaurs After Dark. This is an exciting, mysterious expedition into a shadowy, prehistoric world. Yet you may feel scary and rip-roaring when the lights go out. That’s when you discover a vicious T-Rex on the loose! Fearless Dinosaur Wranglers will lead a Tyrannosaurus Hunt along the Field Station’s darkened trails with a stop at every dinosaur and a few surprises along the way.

Visitors to Legoland Resort in Carlsbad, California, can take their family on an actual underwater adventure in a LEGO submarine with the Lego City Deep Sea Adventure.

Up to twelve passengers can ride each real submarine and go underwater on a treasure hunt with the LEGO Minifigures dive team. Along the way, passengers will encounter more than 200 different types of real underwater sea life as touchscreens located at every porthole give passengers an interactive treasure hunt experience. Identify gems and animals, find special LEGO coins, and spot LEGO creations on this exciting underwater adventure.

Mardi Gras Hangover – Six Flags Great America

Tucked away in Midwestern America is one of the coolest theme park gems in the country. Just north of Chicago lies the little suburb of Gurnee, Illinois, home of Six Flags Great America. Unlike their more theatrical counterparts, Six Flags has become one of the most popular theme parks in the world by simply thrilling the crap out of riders. The newest entry into this is the Mardi Gras Hangover and it will definitely do something to riders.

There is a bit of debate on whether Mardi Gras Hangover is actually a roller coaster or not, but there is no debate on the thrill-level of this new ride. Riders sit in trains that face each other so you can get a good look at everyone else facing the challenge. The trains are attached to a track that is simply a closed circle. Once Mardi Gras Hangover begins, the trains ride this loop back and forth as it gains momentum and speed. When all is said and done, riders will have ridden seven inverted loops at more than 100 feet in the air, making this the highest theme park attraction of its type in the world.

Raja – Noah’s Ark Waterpark in Wisconsin Dells

We again travel to the midwest to find one of the most thrilling water park attractions in the world. In the middle of Wisconsin lies one of the most popular water parks in the country. For years now Noah’s Ark in Wisconsin Dells has been known as an innovator in the water park attraction sphere. With the introduction of the racing waterslide Raja, the park continues this long-standing tradition.

Riders begin high in the sky as they race down side-by-side 335 feet of tubes on inflated intertubes pushing over 30 miles per hour. At the end of this race, riders will face a sudden 37-foot drop into the mouth of a giant cobra. Raja is the largest water park attraction of its kind and only the second to ever be installed within the U.S.

No matter what gets your heart racing, there is sure to be something for you this year. Grab the kids and head out on a thrilling excursion with these exciting must-rides of 2018.
